How Do I Begin?

Step 1

So you heard the call, here you are.
Now what?

You have a choice.

Are you willing to allow God to prepare you, to lead you, to work in you spiritual renewal?

The first step, say, Yes.

Step 2

Hear and receive what God says in II Chronicles 7:14

Then if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land.

A small digression for those who are very worried. Going through so he couldn't sleep. Pray, always and everywhere. But if this does not help you to find peace in the soul, then it's psychosomatic. There are also problems with sleep, which can be solved with a zzzquil pill, and if it is powerless then you need a deeper therapy.

Allow Him to lead you through the renewal progression shown in this verse.

The call is to “My People” — People who long after God and are known by God.

The requirements God expects:
As we come before God, as His people, He expects us to come based on His conditions.

Humble — Not a word we like in our culture.  God hears those who are needy for Him,  who are hungry for Him.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. (Matthew 5:6a)

Pray — In this context the word pray means an attitude of allowing Holy God to search your heart;  look into every room, those private places, and put His finger on those areas which need cleansing and forgiving.

Create in me a clean heart O God; and renew a right spirit within me. (Psalms 51:10)

Seek — Longing after God, desiring to hear Him speak to your spirit, with an attitude willing to agree with God when He speaks.

Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, that He may come and rain righteousness upon you. (Hosea 10:12)

Turn — A new direction.  Following after God and His way,  turning away from your sin and self-centered life.

Now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. . . Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation.  (II Corin. 7: 9, 10)

Linger at this second step.

Stay until you know God has refreshed your spirit.  This may take a day or a week, but linger over these words until God has renewed you.

When your spirit is renewed begin to tell others.  Encourage your family and friends to follow this path of spiritual renewal.

Step 3

When your spirit is renewed before God you are now ready to begin the real work of prayer.  The prayer of intercession for others and our nation.  It has been said that the prayer of intercession is the highest form of prayer.  Praying for others who may not know God.  Praying for others who may not share your love for God.  Praying for others who do not pray for their self.
